On May 1, Korea Institute for Maritime Strategy (KIMS) invited Prof. James Kraska (US Naval War College, NWC) and hosted a special lecture at the ROK Naval War College. He gave a lecture titled “Newport Manual on the Law of Naval Warfare: Undersea and Seabed Operations” before the president, instructors and student officers at the NWC. Prof. Kraska, an expert in maritime law, began the lecture by introducing the legal definition of naval warfare, and then shared his assessment of the ongoing submarine warfare and maritime conflicts and prospects on the future Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) system such as AI technology and drones. The lecture was followed by a vibrant question-and-answer session.
