On 2 December 2025, the Korea Institute for Maritime Strategy (KIMS) hosted a special lecture on Thailand’s maritime security at the Republic of Korea Naval Academy, inviting Prof. Nutcha Sukhawattanakun, an international law scholar from Songkhla University in Thailand. KIMS was represented by Dr. Chung Sam-man (Director, Maritime Security Center), and Dr. Kang Seung Mo (Research Fellow) attended the event. 45 faculty and staff members representing the Army, Navy, and Air Force also participated. During the lecture, Professor Sukhawattanakun introduced the organizational structure and roles of the Royal Thai Navy, as well as various maritime security challenges Thailand currently faces.
