On 8 April 2025, a delegation from the Center for Asia Pacific Strategy (CAPS) visited the Korea Institute for Maritime Strategy. CAPS was represented by Ms. KIM Hee-Eun (President & CEO), Professor Greg Kennedy (King’s College London), Professor Tracey German (King’s College London) and Ms. Claudia Tönz (Chair of Board, Swiss-Korean Business Council). KIMS was represented by VADM (ret.) WON Tae Ho (President), Dr. CHUNG Sam Man (Director, Center for Maritime Security), Dr. KANG Seung Mo (Research Fellow), Mr. LEE Jae Hyeok (Associate Researcher) and Mr. KWON Jae Wook (Intern). Professor Greg Kennedy’s presentation on the current state of global shipbuilding industries was followed by an in-depth discussion on challenges and opportunities for South Korea in shipbuilding cooperation and broader maritime security landscape. KIMS and CAPS agreed to explore further opportunities to work together in the future.
