On April 29, 2025, Korea Institute for Maritime Strategy (KIMS) participated in the Side Event of 2025 Our Ocean Conference in Busan, co-hosted by KIMS, Danish Embassy in Korea, United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), and the University of Copenhagen. Under the title of “Bridging Maritime Security and the Blue Economy,” the four institutes gathered and shared various perspectives and opinion, and Director Sam-man Chung participated as a speaker, representing the KIMS. He argued that the stable maritime strategy is the cornerstone of the blue economy, hence we must construct maritime security and governance system based on the rules-based international order and the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
