– Text: On May 31, KIMS invited Dr. Bruce W. Bennet from RAND Corporation to Joint Forces Military University. Dr. Bennet gave a special lecture titled “Addressing the Evolving Security Challenges in Korea,” sharing his thoughts on how to correspond to North Korean threat. He first pointed out that the ROK and US had failed to ease the nuclear threat via negotiation, hence a strategic alternative that can directly engage North Korea would be needed. He emphasized that the ROK and US should claim that they will terminate the North Korean regime in any case of nuclear attack, and consider adopting much more proactive correspondence to deter North Korea.
